    Hi Cranky,

There’s a new production company in town! Rainsworth Productions (www.rainsworthproductions.com) are a film and theater company and we’re looking to meet actors to work with in the future!

We also are holding course with some of the top casting directors in town if you’re interested.

Keep an eye out for us on the audition noticeboards.

    hi cranky actress,

i just stumbled upon your blog and i must say, even though i am years late hopping on the bandwagon, i am thoroughly enjoying your entries. i, myself, am an actress from toronto (canada) and it’s refreshing (?!) to see that i’m not alone in the “hustle” that is acting.

i recently started a blog documenting my frustrations: http://www.torontoactress416.blogspot.ca

continued success in the acting world 🙂

    Hi Cranky,
I’m learning so much about the biz from reading your blog. Thank you for sharing with us.

I think you have a wonderful sense of humour (Canadian spelling).

    Cheers from Canada

Hi Cranky – Your blog is one of the greats! Looking forward to all that is to come.

Please take a moment to check out mine as well. Just started one on my crazy hustle as another LA based actress so it may interest you and your readers.

    Thank you!

Ha! I just found your blog, so funny! I’ve been looking for other actresses with blogs forever! I think you’re voicing what all actresses are thinking, but can’t really say out loud because, you know, we’re so desperate and dependent on them holy filmmakers.

I myself am a European actress, currently working on (or struggling with) my career and my move to Los Angeles this summer, and having been keeping a blog on that as well: http://starsintheeyes.wordpress.com/

My blog is completely the opposite though, I can get cranky enough as it is, so I try to keep it as positive as possible. But sometimes I do very carefully slip in some complaints about production values in as well, haha 😉 See: http://bit.ly/c5Co5W

Anyway, I’m subscribing to this one! All the best!

Funny stuff. Glad I found your blog. I majored in Speech and Drama many centuries ago, so I can live vicariously through your blogs since I am now a school teacher. But, I guess I do act on a daily basis…I do a lot of mime work..like putting a pretend gun to my head, strangling a child, you know, regular teacher stuff. Will enjoy reading your blog. Take care, Vickie

    congratulations.

    Hi Cranky,

Just stumbled onto your blog. What a find! Loving your truth-telling account of the industry.

I keep a blog myself called The Actor Begins at http://theactorbegins.blogspot.com

It’s interesting to see the differences and similarities between the industries in NYC and here in London, UK.

    Keep blogging, I’ll be reading,

Hello Cranky, (which I never you to be!)

Jerry from Second City writing days checking your fabulously written blog. I see you’re doing well and keeping your public laughing.

I’m still back in Chicago (suburbs actually). The dark part of your life, I know. Cow-town and all that. I get to NYC usually once a year, sometimes more, on business. Kills me when I have meetings in 30 Rock Center and know I should be there for comedy and not working with the accountants of wealthy people.

I’ve been writing stand-up for about 18 months and still write sketches and such. I work my comedy into speeches and get a kick out of making audiences laugh.

Hey, you can click on my name above and see what I try to pass as comedy on my stage name Twitter account.

Keep writing and making me laugh.

    Hi Cranky,

I was inspired by your blog. Of all the blogs I have been checking out by actresses, yours alone made me laugh and smile with the truth and humor of it’s entries.

I started a blog today. Check it out if you wish. I mentioned you.

    Warm Regards,

    The Anonymous Actress

We must have been sisters in another life. You cranky, me tired. Nice to meet you. Also a fellow actor working ‘off the grid’.
